Browser Resolution (tool opens in a new window or tab) is something to concern yourself with regardless of search engine optimiation. People that install games sometimes have their screen resolution reset by the software. This can happen particulalry after installing an older game. The software will not always set resolution back, especially when original settings were not recorded, and folks will neglect or fail to know how to switch it back.

We recommend being sure your site can display at all resolutions with minimal side-to-side scrolling, and consider what content appears above and below the fold. Scan your design for CSS layers that overlap at lower resolution settings. A significant portion of users view the Web at 800x600, though the vast majority have higher resolution screens. A growing portion of users view the Web through much smaller screens including handheld small screen devices. Your design should not completely blow apart if you want to capture any mobile users, and definately work at 800x600 resolution since many users browse at that setting.
