==> Spooks At Google

http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/061030-083614

Essentials: Just in time for the American Halloween, reportedly a
former CIA employee with remaining contacts at the agency also
has contacts at Google. Apparently, the brief stint Matt Cutts
had as an intern with the NSA led to much more than many of us
thought at first.

Don't buy into that nonsense unless you it's in your nature to
lean towards paranoia. This would therefore comes as no surprise
to you. We just think Spooks at Google is the perfect story for
Halloween. We think the CIA must be helping them defend against
defacement with "Hacked by Chinese" or something.

Happy Halloween!

==> Keyword Trademark Rulings

http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/061030-102242

Essentials: While one judge has lately committed to a ruling on
the Kinderstart case, (where Kinderstart is suing Google for low
search engine rankings), some Trademark lawsuits have seemingly
opposite rulings. In New York, the judge apparently ruled that
buying marks as keywords does not constitute the use of
trademarks, while the other ruling in New Jersey was that it
does because there was apparent commerce in the judge's mind.

==> Stratospheric Google Valuation

http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/061026-093349

Essentials: Google is now worth more than IBM (on paper) making
it the third loftiest technology company breathing down the neck
of Cisco in second place and Microsoft at the top. HP, Yahoo!,
Intel, eBay and Amazon were left behind in the dust. Google stock
is trading at stratospheric levels which is why the valuation is
so high.
