==> Add To My Yahoo Button Goes Missing

http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/060525-081503

Essentials: After conducting search at Yahoo!, users with a
My Yahoo! profile were able to subscribe to feeds right directly
from the results page using an "Add To My Yahoo!" button. This
feature appears now to be missing. Users may not be using the
feature enough to justify the increase in time to load.

==> Technorati Powers Associate Press Top Five

http://technorati.com/weblog/2006/05/107.html

Essentials: This announcement means that bloggers can extend
their already considerable new influence over newsworthy topics
by getting much faster exposure from Technorati directly through
the AP. Initially, the "Top Five Most Blogged About" will appear
alongside AP releases. Another feature where bloggers can be more
proactive is linking your entry to a release by the AP and be
included in "Who's Blogging" when users view the article. You
can see the "Who's Blogging" in action at The Washington Post.

==> Semantic Web Closing In

http://news.com.com/2100-1007_3-6076152.html

Essentials: Tim Berners-Lee is telling us the "The Query
language, SPARQL, is now in the candidate recommendation phase."
This is a major step towards the Semantic Web, having had mixed
press since its conception. The Semantic Web is one where code on
the Web is "machine readable" and thereby much more is possible.
It is expected to usher in a whole new era for the Web.

Tim Berners-Lee (Weaving The Web):

The goal of the Semantic Web is to develop enabling standards and
technologies designed to help machines understand more
information on the Web so that they can support richer discovery.
We not only receive more exact results when searching for
information, but also know when we can integrate information from
different sources, know what information to compare, and can
provide all kinds of automated services in different domains.
