"After all, we'd be making a lot more money if everyone with
Internet access told everyone else with Internet access to come
and visit us. Think it'll work?"

From: Stacy Williams

To address Jennifer's question about the lawsuit:

"Think it'll work?" ...heck no!

It had better not work or all the search engines will be out of
business and so will we search marketers. To paraphrase something
Danny Sullivan said after the Florida update had everyone in a
tizzy, crying over lost revenue... any business (like
KinderStart) that relies on a free search engine listing it
doesn't control for 80% of its revenue should really put some
energy into developing a real marketing plan and moving some eggs
into additional baskets.

Excellent point Jennifer!

I wonder to what degree this (frivolous in my opinion) lawsuit is
a PR tactic for either the lawyer who filed it or the web site
itself?

Interestingly, a commenter on a blog post I wrote about this
silly issue said it took him about 5 minutes to find Casino ads,
Diet Pill ads, Drugs and Piercing ad. Not illegal or in conflict
with Google webmaster guidelines, but hardly content for a site
that is allegedly focused on resources for children.

==> Google BigDaddy Complete

http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/003548.html

Essentials: BigDaddy heralds a major change in the Google search
infrastructure. The essential index of the new update has been
available for some time, previously accessible by three IP
addresses. Many search industry professionals have been checking
search at the IPs for indications of what may come regarding
their positions. Google postpones publishing major changes while
taking the time to test them for quality. The quality test is not
entirely over, as the team will respond to webmaster concerns.
There will likely be minor changes for approximately a week more.
The BigDaddy update incorporates a number of fixes for esoteric
technical problems and operates on fresher crawl data.
