It already is hot and getting hotter. Major search engines all have local search offerings. TrueLocal launched a new design today, and refer to having a 50 million page index. The search engine works well, offers related searches, and backfills sponsored listings that are powered by Yahoo! and tracked by Did-It. Traditional things that result in listings for local search matches at most local search engines, are hosting pages with properly formatted address information, and especially visiting the local search engine to complete a company profile so that keywords are available for local search matches. There is tremendous opportunity for local advertisers, (even for those without a website), to get listed in local search and get referrals, including by telephone. SEO firms can round out their services and operate on the premise of offering local search advertising services for merchants, even on a pay-per-call basis, by listing the businesses with local engines and managing the profile information to match valuable queries. How many small businesses do you know with a telephone number, but no website... ? Have you ever considered offering local specific SEO services? Stay tuned. -SR ----------------------------------------------------------------- // -- ESSENTIAL NEWS -- // ----------------------------------------------------------------- ==> Google Analytics http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/google-analytics/ Essentials: With Urchin having been acquired by Google some time ago, offering it free of cost as Google Analytics will give Google a potentially massive user install-base.
